Have your say on the proposed design of a new NDIS support coordination and connection service. The Australian Government has announced the introduction of a new commissioned National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Support Coordination and Connection (SCC) service from 1 July 2028. This service will replace the way NDIS participants currently receive support coordination services. The SCC service reform seeks to improve quality and service consistency, encourage innovation, and be more responsive to participant needs.

HumanAbility, Jobs and Skills Council, is evaluating and updating 6 qualifications to enhance their relevance and assist the sector’s capacity to meet growing demand and evolving challenges. Have you say and participate in a workshop to ensure qualifications are meeting industry needs.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing wants your feedback on how people are assessed to see if they can access the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The proposed changes aim to make access decisions clearer, fairer and more consistent. They would focus on how a person’s disability affects their everyday life, rather than only on their diagnosis.

People with Disability Australia is recruiting adults with disability to shape five online disability-capability modules for Australian Public Service employees. Selected participants will complete one hour of preparation and a two-hour online focus group on 22 or 29 September, with a $210 gift-card payment and access support available.

The Australian Government will be testing a new national warning system (AusAlert) to mobile phones on the 27 July 2026. AusAlert will help keep communities informed and prepared during local and national emergencies. To get ready, a test message will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia at 2:00pm, Monday, 27 July 2026. If your device is on, it might vibrate and play a loud, siren-like sound for ten seconds. A suite of materials has been developed to inform community members which includes Easy Read and Auslan.

NDIS participants are invited to help test the new way of planning before it rolls out from April 2027. This will help us understand what works well, and what needs to improve before roll out. Test will be conducted between July and December 2026.

One spot remaining.  Queenslanders with Disability Network is developing a new learning program by and for young people with disability. Work alongside other young people with disability and QDN staff to help design a program that helps navigate big life events such as employment, study, living arrangements, and standing up for their rights. NDIS participants, providers and the wider disability community have been invited to have their say on NDIS pricing, as part of consultation for the 2025-26 Annual Pricing Review. Feedback is open until 11.59pm AEST on 8 February 2026.
