About the program

NDIS Your Way, Our Way is a Queensland-wide initiative supporting the growth, sustainability and leadership of First Nations NDIS providers. Established by the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety Disability Peaks program, NDIS Your Way, Our Way is working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander providers, participants, families, carers, communities and sector stakeholders to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing the First Nations disability sector.

Through statewide engagement, research and collaboration the program aims to identify practical actions that strengthen provider capability, improve access to culturally safe support, and increase opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to exercise choice and control within the NDIS. A key focus is listening directly to communities through roundtables, surveys and engagement activities.

Alongside statewide engagement activities, NDIS Your Way, Our Way is laying the foundations for a dedicated support function that will strengthen provider capability, foster collaboration, support sector growth and help increase the number and sustainability of First Nations NDIS providers across Queensland.
